Goldenballs, Hot Places... Kold Places, and the resurgence of Rooney

What a week this is for football, particular in Manchester United's point of view. The second leg of the knockout stage with Milan brought more just a resounding victory, it featured the return of the prodigal son that is David Beckham, and in his brief cameo, left with the colours of green and gold of Newton Heath wrapped around the neck. It is as though he's elevating his brand game, rather his pitch game and inadvertently become the ambassador for the fans, never mind The Red Knights in overthrowing the Glazers. David, being a fan of Man Utd since his childhood, has boosted the resistance of the Red Army against the Yanks, and it remains to be seen what would this turn into.

Meanwhile, reality starts to bite at C Ron, the predecessor of Goldenballs at his time at OT as his love affair in the white of Madrid is starting to look as a disaster. The blockbuster overhaul made by the prick Florentino Perez is looking more as a joke rather than a serious threat on the other powerhouses in Europe. Guess flashing indiscriminate amounts of Euros ain't gonna bring silverware for the season it seems, only the La Liga in their sights and you can bet your life that Barca ain't gonna hand it away that easily. In the case of the lad from Madeira, he would be having second thoughts now for leaving OT at the prime of his career. Now i duly understand the meaning of "Hot Places" and the "Kold Places" he utters so famously in the Castrol ad.
(Cynical laugh.)

Back to the game at OT, it looks like the rampage by United's No.10 looks unstoppable, no matter which defense is lined up against. Wazza has benefited in huge amounts from the departure of the winking Portuguese peacock, and has added another deadly ammunition in the mix, his heading ability. Known only for his strength and his vast knowledge of the game in the beginning of his time, he's elevated his status as the deadliest center forward for the time being. It certainly looks like it, and what makes it more scary is there's more to come from it. The world would be anticipating next, as the summer looms large and who knows, he might bring glory for the Three Lions at South Africa. Guessing what C Ron would do if that's reality...
