As i was laughing my ass off watching talkSPORT magazine's videos... one of them taking a shot at Becks much publicized case where he was fondled by an Italian reporter.... my ears caught hearing that David just picked up a serious injury on his Achilles tendon... and right on i was feeling like an ass, just what are the chances is there for David to make it to World Cup?
If he's not on the plane to South Africa, England are going to lose an arsenal that is probably going to decrease their chances of winning the WC, and that is his free-kick and crossing abilities. Sure he has lost a lot of credibility on the pitch, but can anyone deny the exquisite passes he creates and pin-point accuracy in his set pieces? Everyone who follows the Three Lions would remembered his stunner of a free-kick against Greece in the qualifiers... it just shows what a player he is and what an impact it made.
His love for the nation is another thing you wouldn't want to question. At the latter stages of his career, the will and desire is still there and i can bet theres only 40% of the squad has this feeling for the nation. Look at the others, namely Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, even Wayne Rooney.... they always look like scoring and playing their hearts out for their respective clubs, but what about the national team? As if this isn't the only matter to sort out, the scandal of the former captain and the left back for Chelsea is not making things any better. David is miles ahead in terms of involvement compared to these guys.
Do hope you can turn it around David, i'm counting on it though it looks very bleak...
